Manchester United plans to recruit the Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson in order to remedy the difficulties encountered by his attack.

According to The Times, United closely monitors Jackson's situation in Chelsea. The Senegalese striker saw two new faces arriving to compete in the post of attacker at Stamford Bridge and would consider his future within the club. It is believed that the Blues could consider selling it if an interesting offer is presented this summer, the Red Devils being interested, just like AC Milan and Aston Villa.

Jackson has been the holder of Chelsea in the last two seasons, scoring 30 goals in 81 appearances in all competitions, but that has not prevented the London club from recruiting Liam Delap, from Ipswich, and Joao Pedro, from Brighton, in order to broaden the options available to Enzo Maresca. For his part, Manchester United experienced difficulties with Rasmus Hojlund in attack, while Joshua Zirkzee finished his first season with only seven goals in 49 matches.

Chelsea would estimate the value of Jackson at around 100 million pounds sterling and it will be interesting to see if United will decide to make an official offer at this price, given the length of the saga to sign Bryan Mbeumo. Negotiations with Brentford would be deadlocked, the Bees demanding more than one that United gave the Wolves for Matheus Cunha.

Jackson only played three games during the Chelsea triumph in the club World Cup, having been expelled against Flamengo before being reprimanded by Cole Palmer for having fired the ball during the victory in the semi-finals against Fluminense. If he remains in the blues, he will have to fight against Delap and Pedro to obtain a place of holder under the orders of Maresca.
