A disease was discovered in a herd of cattle near the seizure pass, which was initially in front of being borrowed during the 19th stage of the Tour de France. Thus, the latter has been shortened and will only be 95 kilometers between Albertville and La Plagne.

The information fell late in the evening. The discovery of a hearth of contagious nodular dermatoses in a herd of cattle located in the col of seizures on the route du Tour forced the organizers to shorten the stage of today. This disease is not transmitted to humans but the Ministry of Agriculture recommends that they do not go near the contaminated farms.

This is why the route must be changed. The organizers evoke the distress of breeders and prefer to avoid the sector in order to “to preserve the serenity of the race“. It is therefore a 95 km stage between Albertville and La Plagne which awaits the runners, instead of the 130 km initially planned. The departure is offset at 2:30 p.m.

Yesterday, at the top of the Col de la Lausse, in the cold, in the rain and even in hail, at 2,300 meters above sea level, it was the Australian Ben O'Connor who is solo. He resisted the return of the Tadej Pogacar yellow jersey, second in the stage, despite the attempts by Jonas Vingegaard. Nothing seems to be able to reach the Slovenian three days from arrival on the Champs-Élysées.
