The peloton changes gear. After nine first steps drawn for sprinters and sneakers, the Tour de France will start the mountain on the day of the national holiday, Monday July 14. The runners will have a 165.3 km stage on the menu in the Massif Central, around Clermont-Ferrand, and 4,450 meters of elevation gain to swallow before taking a first day of rest.
Tadej Pogacar said: he expects to be attacked by the Visma-Lease A Bike training by Jonas Vingegaard. Will we be entitled to a new duel between the two favorites as in the Lioran last year? On a land that will have eight difficulties listed, the breakaway will have a good chance of going to the end and many should try to slip there to seek the stage victory.
