The last weeks of the summer transfer window promise to be responsible for Real Madrid, with arrivals and departures just as possible. And one of the players who could leave the club is Dani Ceballos.
Ceballos is widely considered a player who is very underestimated in Real Madrid, having been preceded by players such as Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavonga, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the hierarchy in recent years. This means that he had trouble obtaining regular tenure, even if he often impressed when he was given the opportunity.
Ceballos had managed to chain several tenure in the second half of last season before an injury spread it out of the field for a long time. Since then, he has not managed to regain his place. His fate could be different under the leadership of Xabi Alonso, but in view of the Club World Cup, it seems unlikely.

A departure planned this summer at Real?
Despite this, Diario As says that Alonso is counting on Ceballos for next season, and the 28 -year -old does not plan to leave for the moment. However, this could change if Real Madrid is recruiting a new midfielder, because he clearly said he wanted to play regularly in order to be able to claim a place in the Spanish team for the 2026 World Cup.
A return to Real Betis would be possible, but unlikely
In recent years, Ceballos has regularly been associated with a return to Real Betis, where he started his career. The Verdiblancos have openly expressed their desire to bring it back, but for various reasons, this has never happened. This summer could be the ideal moment if Real Madrid decided to recruit a new midfielder, even if it seems unlikely.
Since the Ceballos contract expires in 2027, Real Madrid would probably be favorable to its departure this summer, but it will not be over the position of Alonso. It will therefore be necessary to wait, Real Madrid having not yet made a final decision concerning the recruitment of a new midfielder.
