The future of Frenkie de Jong as a player of FC Barcelona has been the subject of many speculations in recent years, but it now seems certain that he will remain at the club in the near future.

Fortunately for Barcelona and Jong, it is now done, since Sport reports that the 27 -year -old is now represented by Pini Zahavi. The agent already met Joan Laporta and Hansi Flick to discuss a new contract for the Dutchman, El Chiringuito specifying that this meeting took place on Friday.

Now that De Jong has changed agent, Barcelona should finalize his new lease in the very close future. An agreement in principle between him and the club would have already been concluded, so it remains to write the contract and to sign it on his return for the pre-season.

It is obvious that Barcelona wishes to keep the services of De Jong, who will remain an important player for Flick. It may not be also undisputed next season due to Marc Bernal's return, but it will nevertheless remain crucial.
