Despite the persistent uncertainty around the financial situation of FC Barcelona, coach Hansi Flick wishes to continue to strengthen his workforce during the transfer window after driving the Catalans to the Liga title last season.
Goalkeeper Joan Garcia became the first summer recruit of Barçatransferred from Espanyol for 25 million euros last month, while the winger of Athletic Bilbao, Nico Williams, could follow.
The arrival of a new side right could also materialize before the 2025-26 season. According to SigningsBarcelona “reactivated her interest” for Dutch international Denzel Dumfries.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano specifies that the Catalan club has been interested in the 29 -year -old player for several months, without having yet formulated official tenders.

Competing with Jules Koundé is not a priority
Although Jules Koundé has established himself as an essential holder at Barça, with four goals and eight assists in 53 games last season, it seems that Flick wishes to strengthen his team with an offensive alternative to the post of right side. In view of his limited finances, it is difficult to imagine Barça letting go of such a sum for a position which is not a priority.
Ronald Araújo, Héctor Fort and Eric García have all already evolved in this position, but none of them has the offensive qualities of Dumfries, considered one of the best rear rights in Europe.
Since his arrival at Inter in 2021, DUMFRIES has contributed 48 goals to 179 games in all competitions, with 22 goals scored and 26 assists.
Barcelona discovered the offensive quality of Dumfries at its expense
Former PSV player Eindhoven has scored 11 goals and delivered six assists in 47 games last season, including two goals and three assists in the haking semi-finals of the Champions League against Barcelona (7-6 on the two matches).
Dumfries and Inter finally lost a second final of the Champions League in three years, but the Dutchman still won five trophies with the Milanese club, including the SCUDETTO 2023-24.
