The German international questions one of the transfers made during this 2025 summer transfer window.
Liverpool struck hard this summer by completing the transfer of Florian Wirtz. The England champion spent no less than 136.3 million euros, bonus inclusive, to recruit the German nugget, arrived in Anfield from Bayer Leverkusen in early July.
If the initial amount of the operation, first estimated at 150 million euros, has aroused numerous reactions within the football sphere, it continues to amaze more than one. This is particularly the case with Thomas Müller.
Müller skeptical
As part of an interview with CBS Sportthe versatile striker of Bayern Munich questioned the cost of this summer movement. “What is 150 million?” It's unreal. This is just a figure between clubs. Who can imagine what 150 million mean? We cannot recruit Neymar (recruited 222 million euros by Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, editor's note), but we can plant a lot of trees with “said the 2014 world champion.
Müller remains convinced of the talent of his compatriot.
“For Florian, he integrates everywhere. He is not only a very good footballer, but he is also very mentally very strong. In the end, we are used to managing significant transfer allowances. Expectations are very high anyway ”, he concluded.
