If Roberto de Zerbi is looking for an attacker to play Amine Gouiri's liners, it is because the OM coach knows that the season will be long. Especially this winter.

Roberto de Zerbi continues to impose his requirements for the transfer window. The Italian coach, determined to build a competitive team to find the Champions League in 2025-2026, transmitted a clear roadmap to Pablo Longoria and Medhi Benatia. Objective: recruit between six and eight new players this summer, with an obvious priority in attack. Because if Amine Gouiri remains at the heart of the project, OM does not want to be helpless when the Algerian international will be mobilized by the CAN this winter.
A lining for actively sought -after gouiri
Next season promises to be long and intense for OM, especially with the return to the Champions League. And Zerbi knows it better than anyone: the absence of Amine Gouiri during the African Cup of Nations could cost dear. Expected with the Algerian selection, the Marseille scorer will miss several weeks of competition, at least two months. A vacuum that OM must fill this summer by recruiting a lining capable of ensuring the interim … but also of Challenger Gouiri over time. The profile sought? A mobile striker, capable of being part of the ambitious game project of De Zerbi.
Tracks in France
Medhi Benatia already has several targets in sight. In France, the Lucas Stassin (ASSE) file is being studied. But it is especially Matthis Abline (FC Nantes) who pleases the most. The concern is the Nantes gluttony, which will not listen to the offers below 20 million euros. On the budget side, OM will only have ten million euros to spend on this position.
