Sale OM – Rare in the media, Frank McCourt came out of silence this Sunday in the columns of the JDD. The opportunity for the American owner of OM to reaffirm his commitment to the head of the club, but also to open the door to possible new shareholders, under certain conditions.

OM's sales rumors in Saudi Arabia have calmed down a lot in recent months and it is rather a sign that the club is working well and goes in the right direction. Back in the Champions League next season, OM now hopes to qualify each season for this competition, as confirmed by its American owner Frank McCourt in the columns of Sunday newspaper This day.

“The objective is now to systematically qualify for the Champions League and to start a virtuous circle”said McCourt, before adding: “Last year, we said that the objective was the qualification for the Champions League. Any lower result would have been a failure. Until the end, it was tight, sometimes stressful. Now, we are entering a phase where the objective is to qualify the club for this competition. Any lower result will be a failure. It is as simple as that.”

Investors yes, but no sale OM

The JDD also asked McCourt if he would be ready to welcome new investors to OM in the near future: “It is possible, but only if there is a strategic reason and if they share the same values, replies the Bostonian. My family has been in business for more than 130 years and we have partnerships that have lasted for decades. They are one of the reasons for our success.”

“OM is not for sale and you should not give way to any ambiguity on this”

McCourt took advantage of this question to reaffirm yet another time that OM was not for sale: “So I'm not against (new investors), but we are not actively looking for. This is a subject on which I want to remain very careful. The club is not for sale and you should not give way to any ambiguity on it. What matters is the stability of OM and its ability to continue to grow.”
