A victory while mastering. The Dutchman Olav Kooij (Team Visma – Lease A Bike) won the sprint on Thursday, May 22, the 12th stage of the Giro 2025, in Viadana. The 23 -year -old has had an excellent work from his teammate Wout Van Aert, to launch his sprint perfectly placed 300 m from the finish line.

Already the winner of a stage during the previous Tour of Italy, Olav Kooij was ahead of Dutch Casper Van Uden (Team Picnic Postnl) – a surprise winner of the 4th stage – and the Briton Ben Turner (ineos grenadiers). The first Frenchman, Paul Magnier (Sudal Quick-Step), is eighth.

In the general classification, no change to report. The Mexican Isaac del Toro (UEA Team Emirates) remains in the lead, and increases by two seconds his advance on his teammate Juan Ayuso (+33 '') thanks to his third place taken on the Redbull kilometer.
