It was in the pipes, it's now official. The prodigy Paul Seixas (Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale), which will celebrate its 19 years four days before the race, is part of the selection of eight runners unveiled on Monday September 15 by Thomas Voeckler for the online race of road cycling worlds. In Rwanda, he will rub shoulders with the double world champion Julian Alaphilippe (Tudor), Louis Barré (Intermarché-Wanty), Julien Bernard (Lidl-Trek), Jordan Jegat (Totalenergies), Valentin Madouas (Groupama-FDJ), Valentin Paret-Peintre (Sudal Quick-Step) and Pavel Sivakov (UAE-XRG).
Last year, the Blues failed to play the leading roles behind the untouchable Tadej Pogacar, Switzerland. A month after his coronation on the tour of the future, Paul Seixas will also participate in the time trial, alongside specialist Bruno Armirail, a week before the online race.
The composition of the female selection, directed by Paul Brousse, was also formalized. It will be even more ambitious. The winner of the Tour de France women Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt will be present. It will be surrounded by the best tricolor climbers: Cédrine Kerbaol (EF Education-Oatly), Juliette Labous (FDJ-Suez), Evita Muzic (FDJ-Suez), Maëva Squiban (UAE-Adq), Marie Le Net (FDJ-Suez) and Léa Curinier (FDJ-Suez).
Cédrine Kerbaol and Juliette Labous will participate in the individual time trial, but also in the mixed team trial alongside Paul Seixas, Bruno Armirail, Pavel Sivakov and Maëva Squiban.
