Arrested on social networks by Djibril Cissé after his controversial remarks on the French team and the treatment of his son, Pierre Ménès responded to the former scorer.
It is a controversy that greatly animated this international truce. While the Blues began their qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup, Pierre Ménès made a very noticed outing in an interview with the Bistro Liberté program, on a YouTube, Tvlibertés, launched by a former framework of the National Front, Martial Bild.
The former columnist of Canal + first told an anecdote about his son, whom he had registered in the Torcy football club (77) at the age of 11, specifying first that the latter was not very good at this sport, before declaring: ” He has wanted to stop after three training sessions (…) ”. “He says to me” they don't say hello to me, they don't pass the ball to me, they crossed me when I have the ball, and they don't take the shower with me “(…). In the team, there were only Maghrebians and blacks ”.
And Pierre Ménès to engage on the French team.
“This is the reality of football in Île-de-France, but also French football (…). Look at the French team: today there are eleven blacks ”he launched, before clarifying : “Me it does not bother me at all, from my point of view as a football specialist there is only one thing that interests me: it is that it is the best who play”.

These polemical words did not go unnoticed, in the small world of football as elsewhere. While some far -right elected officials have recovered the words of Pierre Ménès, like Eric Zemmour, footballers more or less close to the journalist also expressed their disappointment.
