When evoking the transfer window directed by Bayern Munich, its honorary president, Uli Hoeness, took the opportunity to send a small spike to its European rival, Barça.
This summer, Bayern Munich has experienced several failures on the transfer market. The club first lost the battle for Florian Wirtz, seduced by Liverpool, then saw his compatriot Nick Woltemade took over the management of Newcastle.
Finally, the German champion was measured in his expenses, only completing two major reinforcements: Jonathan Tah for 2 million euros and Luis Diaz for 75 million. A choice that however satisfies the honorary president of the Bavarian club, Uli Hoeness.
Hoeness pays Barça
The German leader recognized that the rekordmeister had other targets in the lead during this transfer window. But it does not feed any regret as long as the club retains healthy finances, unlike FC Barcelona, which it did not hesitate to erect in poor example.
“Max Eberl (Bayern sports director, editor's note) wanted to recruit a player, but we know what we have on the accounts”Hoeness on Sport1 said.
“It is as important as sporting success. There is the example of FC Barcelona. If you buy, buy, buy … you suddenly end up with 1.2 billion euros in debts and you can't do anything. »»
