This Thursday, August 28, the peloton of The return Start from Olot for the 6th stage, a demanding mountain stage of 170.3 kilometers towards PAL, in Andorra. With 3,475 meters of elevation gain, this stage marks the real start of the battle between the favorites in the general classification. The route provides for several major climbs, including the Santigosa and Tosses passes, conducive to the formation of a breakaway. The runners will then tackle the climb of the Comella before heading to arrival at the top. The last ascent, 9.6 kilometers long at 6.4 %, shares its first kilometers with that of Arinsal, theater of the victory of Remco Evenepoel In 2023, and constituted an ideal ground for climbers.

Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | lease a bike) appears as the favorite of the day, but several contenders for the red jersey could take advantage of this step to show the teeth. We obviously think of the duo Juan Ayuso–JOAO ALMEIDA (UAE Team Emirates XRG), but also Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-trek), Jai Hindley (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe), Felix Gall (Decathlon AG2R) or why not David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ).
