Xabi Alonso has chosen to reshape his Real Madrid team for his 3-0 Liga victory on the Real Oviedo field, with major changes.
The former Spanish international has chosen to integrate the club's captain, Dani Carvajal, and the experienced central defender Antonio Rudiger, in his starting eleven, in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Eder Militao.
The changes continued in the midfield and in attack: Franco Mastastuono made his first tenure for the club and Rodrygo Goes was recalled after his absence against Osasuna.
Brahim Diaz and Vinicius Junior left the field, the latter having come into play to score the third goal of the evening.
Kylian Mbappé caused a sensation with two goals before and after the break, but Rodrygo’s recall was a big news for Real Madrid supporters.

Alonso has always dismissed questions concerning his project to sell the Brazilian international before the end of August.
Although he only played a limited role during the FIFA club World Cup, Alonso seems to want to keep it at least until January. The former midfielder confirmed that he was not planned to leave him or lend him to Mastantuono.
