Ivan Melendez Luque, runner of the Tenerife-Cabberty U19 team, died following a massive fall on Saturday August 23 on the second stage of Vuelta Ribera, the official name of the Vuelta Junior. According to the Spanish radio, Cadena Ser, around twenty runners were taken in this serious fall and 18 were hospitalized in Soria, including three in serious condition, including Ivan Melendez. This hospital announced in the evening that this young runner of the Tenerife team had died. The state of health of the other two seriously injured runners is not known.
