The return of Sunderland in the Premier League has opened up new ambitions to the Black Cats. Régis Le Bris who has produced wonders with the English club, wants to rely on young, solid but already experienced profiles at the high level. It is in this perspective that the name of Charlie Cresswell returns insistence on the side of the Stadium of Light. The 22 -year -old English defender, summer recruit of the TFC in 2024, quickly won Ligue 1 thanks to his physical impact, his reading of the game and his ability to score on set kicks.

This season, Cresswell has played more than 34 games in all competitions for 32 tenure, and distinguished itself by its leadership, both in Toulouse and in selection. Currently engaged at the Euro Espoirs, he has already marked in the first game in England, confirming his status as a manager among the Young Lions. His meteoric progression has not gone unnoticed, and Sunderland, who seeks to strengthen himself defensively for a season which promises to be complicated, sees in him an ideal target.

Will TFC resist the financial power of the Premier League? It could well be complicated, especially since the prospect of finding your native country could weigh in the scale for Cresswell.

Under contract until 2028 in Toulouse, Charlie Cresswell is currently valued at 10 million euros by the TransferMarkt site. A purely indicative amount, because if this summer the TFC will need to sell, it is unlikely that € 10M is enough to convince the Toulouse board.
