This Friday, the “1 p.m.” offers you a stopover in Slovenia, on one of the most difficult mountain bikes in the world. The circuit, baptized “Black Hole”, or “black hole” in French, is in the heart of the mountain in an old mine of zinc and lead. Only experienced cyclists can travel these 10 km of dark and dangerous paths.

In the heart of the Slovenian mountains, hidden between the fir trees, is the entrance to an abandoned mine, which has become mountain bike track. “We call this place the track of the 'black hole'”indicates a cyclist. This track is reserved for confirmed cyclists. Like Kilian Bron, a French professional mountain biker who will rub shoulders with this Slovenian hell. Only one advice: watch out for the head.
“I used to ride in the mountains, but not in it. So there, it's still quite unprecedented. It is still another new place in which I could put my wheels”rejoices the specialist in risky prowess on two-wheelers. It must be said that Kilian is not necessarily a follower of underground passages. Usually, it is rather at the top that you find it. On all continents, in the most inaccessible places on the planet, he turns videos and participates in races.
Anej Strucl, VTT guide, created the “black hole” course in old lead and zinc mines: “Before we come there by bike, it was completely abandoned for 25 years. This journey is a way to show the heritage of our ancestors”he explains. And to specify: “My parents and grandparents were linked to the mine, they were minors”.
This track is one of the hardest in the world. And as if it was not already difficult enough, the sportsman always finds an additional challenge: “Of the 2,500 people who have passed here, there are only four to have tried it”point anej struct. The route thus makes ten kilometers between cavities and narrow corridors, several hours underground. “You come back on one side of the mountain, you come out on the other (…). It's a real labyrinth. That is quite unique anyway”testifies Kilian Bron, breathless.
In the bowels of this colossus, more than 1,000 km of galleries hollowed out by hand. These mines are among the oldest in Europe. They date back to the 17th century and at the bottom, they were drowned in the water. So we kayak. “I'm a little claustrophobic, but I take it upon myself and everything is fine”reassures a Frenchman, for whom to paddle here has a particular flavor: “This is the experience. We enter the walls, we bangs from everywhere, but it is super interesting and we also experienced the light. Suddenly, we are completely out of time. There is this mixture of the calm of underground exploration and then the fun of kayak”rejoices the tourist.
On wheels as on water, even several hundred meters deep, in Slovenia, you can reach summits of adrenaline.
