Isak appointed to the Premier League season team
Absent from the PFA award ceremony
Isak published a long statement in which he thanked the PFA for being included in his team from the Premier League season. He then targeted Newcastle, accusing the club of “not keeping his promises”.
In his declaration published on Instagram, Isak wrote: “I am proud to be recognized by my professional colleagues and to be appointed to the team of the 2024/25 season of the PFA Premier League. Above all, I would like to thank my teammates and all those from Newcastle United who supported me throughout my journey. I am not present at the ceremony this evening. With everything that happens, I didn't feel comfortable being there. I kept silent for a long time, while others were expressed. This silence allowed some to impose their own version of the facts, even if they know that it does not reflect what has been really said and agreed behind closed doors. In reality, promises have been made and the club has known my position for a long time. Acting now as if these problems were only a news question is misleading. When the promises are broken and confidence is lost, the relationship cannot last. This is where I am currently – and that is why the change is in the interest of all, and not only mine. »»
Isak was mentioned to leave Newcastle throughout the summer and the attacker is currently in conflict with the Magpies concerning a transfer to Liverpool, the club not yet validated its sale. The Swedish striker is however determined to join Anfield this summer. The 25 -year -old was excluded from the first team and trains alone. It was also excluded from Eddie Howe's group for the season's opening match against Aston Villa last weekend.
