The goalkeeper of FC Barcelona, Iñaki Pena, still does not know when, nor if he will leave the Catalan club in the coming weeks.
A departure has been envisaged since the beginning of 2025, following the decision of Hansi Flick to withdraw it from his post as a holder in January, following the arrival of Wojciech Szczesny.
This decision aroused frustration, because Pena felt unfairly treated by the position of Flick towards Szczesny, which convinced him to want to leave.
The situation was still complicated this summer with the arrival of Joan Garcia as a new number 1 in Flick.
SZCZESNY's extension of contract means that the Polish veteran remains in Flick's plans and that Marc-André Ter Stegen will remain at the club at least until January.
Ter Stegen has settled his dispute with the club concerning the communication of his medical reports at La Liga, allowing Garcia to be registered. However, on his return later in the year, he will still be ahead of Pena.

Barça: Iñaki Pena could be on the start.
Previous reports indicated that Pena could be forced to stay if the Garcia file was not resolved, but this obstacle is now crossed.
The CESC Fabregas club has mentioned an offer, but due to delays on the side of FC Barcelona, other options are envisaged.
Iñaki Pena could be forced to stay in Barcelona.
According to Marca, the lack of ratification of Szczesny in Liga remains the last obstacle to Pena's departure, the documents concerning him always missing.
The club worked hard to settle the last-minute registrations, Garcia and Marcus Rashford being the latest to have been signed. If Szczesny stays on the bench, it could complicate things for Pena.
Diego Kochen was appointed to the bench during the inaugural victory from Barcelona to Majorca, but Pena is older, which could tip the scales.
There are two offers on the table from Türkiye, but Pena may have to wait until the last minute to get a ticket to leave Barcelona.
