Real Madrid firmly rejected the project to play the very first Liga match in the United States.

The Merengues have already seized three ruling bodies other than the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and La Liga to assert their arguments.

On Monday, the RFEF announced that it has approved the request to organize a match abroad. Villarreal's home match against Barcelona, scheduled for December 20 and 21 (the last of the year), will take place in Miami, Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Dolphins stadium, where the NFL evolves. This idea aroused the concern of the captains of La Liga, the Spanish Association of Players (AFE) and the Spanish Supporters Association (FASFE).

Real Madrid rejects the idea of a match in the United States

The Merengues published a statement on Tuesday afternoon, explaining their rejection of the organization of a match outside Spain. Their argument is that removing the round trips for two teams would fundamentally compromise the equality of the competition, because the playing conditions would be uneven.

Real Madrid puts UEFA and FIFA

The approval of the RFEF means that in theory, only the green light of FIFA and UEFA can decide whether or not to authorize the match. The Merengues called on the two organizations to reject this idea until the unanimous approval of all clubs is given by FIFA, and that the rules of national competitions are respected by UEFA. Real Madrid has also written to the High Sports Committee (CSD) to implore it not to authorize this project.
