A bulky file disturbs the Marseille transfer window and force Roberto de Zerbi to review some of his plans.

At OM, the summer transfer window was to take place without incident, with a clear policy defined by Roberto de Zerbi. But a player, yet invited to find a new point of fall, still resists the exit gates offered to him. A situation which, indirectly, complicates the management of the workforce and the room for maneuver of the Italian coach on the market.

This file which blocks the end of OM transfer window

This element is none other than Faris Moumbagna. Back from a serious injury to the crossed ligaments suffered in August 2024, the Cameroonian striker was not reinstated in the professional group this summer. Relegated to the reserve since the recovery, he declined a proposal from Toulouse, preferring to wait for a more ambitious destination. This decision slowed down OM's plans, which counted on its departure to free up space in the workforce.

According to several sources, including AfricaFootRennes and Lille would have inquired in recent days about the 25 -year -old scorer. The two clubs, interested in a physical profile capable of weighing in the area, could take action by the end of the month. But for the time being, no agreement has been reached, and the situation remains unanswered.

A recent past that pleads in its favor

Despite his technical shortcomings pointed out by certain observers, Moumbagna scored points in 2023-2024 under Jean-Louis Gasset. He had notably scored a decisive goal against Benfica in the quarter -final return of the Europa League, offering a historic qualification for the Phocaeans. A memory that could play in his favor with ambitious clubs.

For Roberto de Zerbi, the equation is simple: a departure from Moumbagna would make it possible to open a priority offensive file. Otherwise, OM could be forced to wait, or even resolve to lend its attacker to avoid a harmful immobility. The countdown is launched until August 31.
