A physical and technical final, the day after a French victory, for a historic double. Maeva Squiban reissued a capital performance to win a second consecutive stage, Friday, August 1, during the 7th stage. As expected, the Col du Granier (8.9 km at 5.4%), located just before the long final descent and then cut the line in Chambéry, was the crucial moment of the day.
It was there that the Frenchwoman distorted a company to her escaped companions to go to victory, and get a very good deal to the general since she goes back in 16th position. It is also there that the yellow jersey, Kim Le Court (AG Insurance-Soudal), lost foot in front of the favorite group, virtually abandoning its leader's tunic before making an extraordinary descent to find the Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt (Visma-Lease A Bike), virtual leader for a while, but also half vollering (FDJ-Suez) (Canyon-Sram). This is how the day ended with an always Mauritian leader.
Relive the 7th stage.
