The Tour de France ended in the fervor of the Butte Montmartre, on Sunday, three weeks after rushing into the Lille heat.
Tadej Pogacar in yellow on the highest step of the podium on the Champs-Elysées. The scene is known, since it is the fourth time that the Slovenian has won the Grande Boucle, at the end of the 21st and last stage concluded on Sunday July 27.
But between the superb start from Lille, and the traditional arrival on the Champs-Elysées, things happened. From a thrilling first week, to the outrageous domination of the world champion, winner of four stages and ruthless to grab time on his main rival, Jonas Vingegaard, the peloton lived to the rhythm of the quadruple winner of the event. And an enthusiasm that reached its climax during the three climbing Montmartre ascents during the final day.
