He was part of the good breakaway and seemed to have his legs to raise his arms on the finish line in Pontarlier, but the Groupama-FDJ runner left on the ground, like many others on this wet day on Saturday.

At 22, the native of Besançon seemed to have the shape to get out of the game in the end of this day, when he had crossed a group of escaped the Côte de Longeville, the last major difficulty of the day. But placed in second position in the descent, he saw the Spaniard Ivan Romeo (Movistar) going to the fault, and could not avoid the same error, carried away by his speed.
