Baked at boredom and bad weather. This was the promise, Friday, July 25, during the last passage of the Grande Boucle in the Alps. Despite the rain, the mountain atmosphere was once again boiling in La Plagne (Savoie). It was the last step reserved for climbers of this 112nd edition.

Because of a contagious hearth that affects cattle in Savoy, the stage was shortened: only 93 kilometers of planned. It was one of the last chances of seeing runners, just two days before Paris. The tour is soon over. “If we are on vacation in July, the Tour de France is compulsory. (…) I fell into it when I was very small with my parents and then after it was the magic of sport “launches a supporter.

On the sport side, despite the crowd, the magic has this time not operated. Behind the victory of the Dutchman Thymen Arensman, exhausted on arrival, Tadej Pogačar dominant, left his competitors no chance, even if it means annoying enthusiasts. “He could at least delay a little bit and leave a little for the others, a little crumbs at least. He already has the yellow jersey”regrets a supporter.

Only rainbow in the French landscape: seventh place in the general classification of Kévin Vauquelin. The last time a tricolor was as well classified, it was three years ago on the Champs-Élysées.
