
An incident marked the 14th stage of Tour de France. On the slopes of the Peyresourde pass, a team vehicle INEOS Grenadiersled by the sports director Oliver Cooksonhit a spectator positioned by the roadside, about 32.6 km from the finish in Luchon-Superbagnères. TV images show the vehicle of the team driving behind the escaped group, which appeared Thymen Arensman (winner of the stage) and Carlos Rodríguezwhen the shock occurred. The spectator, apparently filming with his phone, was screened on the hood before falling on the ground. The driver immediately stopped.

5000 CHF fine and a yellow card
The commissioners of Tour inflicted a fine of 5,000 Swiss francs on Cooksonwith a yellow card for “Incorrect behavior endangering spectators”. INEOS Grenadiers Quickly apologized in a press release: “Our sincere thoughts and apologies go to the fan which was accidentally and unfortunately struck by one of our cars. We do everything to guarantee everyone's safety, including enthusiasts who make this sport so unique.” No information has yet been communicated on the spectator's state of health.
